Hearts on a Stick: everything is better on a stick

Today's post is all about love. It's the anniversary of my grandfather's passing and he is one person who taught me the most about love in my life, so I thought this little project was fitting. And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I got crafty with it for a love-inspired DIY. Hence, the hearts for tarts were created.

After scooping up a few packages of these pre-made paper roses from Michael's (in the dollar section) and some wooden skewers, I simply cut heart shapes out of thick card-stock and hot glued the roses to the surface. It seriously took me less than 20 minutes but the end result was worth it.

They are so cute and simple that they make the perfect Love Day cake topper or in this case, tart topper. Can I get an Amen for the gorgeous eye candy a.k.a. a delicious raspberry tart from my local Bovine bakery?! Amen! I'm ready to digest some of those calories, but I digress.

These little rosebuds not only put me in the spirit for Valentine's Day but also for Spring. So tell me, what are you making for Valentine's Day this year? Last year it was multi-colored pancake hearts and golden dinosaurs with heart balloons for this gal. I'm not quite sure how to top it for 'Oliver Tate the great' this year, I would love some ideas.

I hope you lovelies are having a great week. Help me spread a little love today. You never know when someone may need some. Now, someone please pass the fork....I'm ready to get some tart in my tummy.
