How To Remove Dents from Vintage Campers

A lot of vintage trailers will have beauty marks and/or dents due to age, elements, tree branches falling on them or backing into things. The challenge is how to fix them?

1. You could replace the damaged metal panel.
2. You could cover the damage if it’s in a place where something like diamond plate would be appropriate (ie; the lower front panel).
3. You could live with the damage.
4. You could try to pull out the dents.

Pulling out the dents is exactly what Jennifer Weiner-Smith did. She explained that she used a pneumatic dent puller tool she purchased from Northern Tool. She went on to explain that instead of trying to place the dent puller in the center of the dent and popping it out that way, she instead placed it along the outer edge of the dent and slowly worked her around the dent popping it out little by little.

Check out this before and after. Pretty impressive huh? Jennifer said “I bought a pneumatic dent puller and had a blast today! I’ve owned this Airstream for almost 10 years and the dents were there when I got her. I am so excited! It’s not perfect, but it sure looks much better!!”
