Bicornuate Uterus

In the beginning of my pregnancy my (original) OB saw a little something on an early u/s when we went in for bleeding and thought I had a bicornuate uterus or heart shaped uterus.
A few weeks later I went to see a high risk Dr because of my previous pre-term delivery and when he did an u/s he didn't see signs of this. So we just took it off the table.
I ended up staying with my high risk Dr for the whole pregnancy and delivery because I really liked him and felt that's where I belonged this time around.
When I was having my (scheduled) c-section and they were doing the 'clean up' inside after baby was out he saw that I did indeed have a bicornuate uterus. A full heart shape.

We were all a bit surprised but it all makes sense now.
Some issues that are common with a bicornuate uterus are pre-term delivery, cervical issues, and breech presentation. I have had all of that!
Both kiddos basically grew in half a uterus. She was in the right side and I'm not sure which side B was on. All along I had hoped she would flip head down when really she had no space to. She pretty much lived under my right rib cage which makes sense now.
A lot of women have difficulty getting pregnant with this type of uterus so I am happy that wasn't the case for us.
This really was a miracle pregnancy to carry to full term (39w4d).
I now have my miracle baby (B) and my miracle pregnancy (Riley).
I love my tattoo even more...I have 'miracle' in Japanese on the back of my neck. I got it after B was born but now it's for both kiddos.
