I have decided to create a new feature on my blog named Travel Tuesday ! Be excited as this is the very first one!
I love to travel and I have been fortunate enough to go on some amazing family holidays to places such as South Africa, Mexico, Dubai and Kenya, I love seeing new places, learning about new cultures, trying new foods and just being some where different. As I have now graduated university and working full time I just feel like Travelling is something I need to do. I have always said I have wanted to and I think now is the right time to make it happen!! After to chatting to one of my best friends about how her life is going, hows the job hunt and the post uni blues she said she is currently working and just saving up to go travelling too. In a crazy OMG moment we both decided to go together and start planning the trip of a life time! We both decided to spend a few weeks researching and deciding on everything we want to do and what the possibilities are so for todays post I thought I would include a few little helpful sites that I have come across so far.
The main source of Inspiration so far has to be Pinterest, I have started a new 'Travel board' and got a bit pin crazy. Its here I have found a lot of websites and blogs that have then led into a lot more sites and then I have just become lost in the internet dreaming of travel...
The main site I have been looking at is the STA travel site and I have also popped in to the shop to pick up lots of the travel books its defiantly a good idea if your not to sure as it has helped me rule out where I don't want to go and also introduced me to a few new places too.
I have been enjoying reading a few blogs including theblondeabroad.com, www.nomadicmatt.com and apassionandapassport.com these are all amazing travel blogs so I would recommend a read if you want more inspiration but also for travel tips too.
Something else I have come across is sites where you can stay with local people, rent cheaper rooms and find cheaper hotels / hostels these include homestay.com , mindmyhouse.com and the app Air BNB which I have been obsessed with looking at amazing places to stay.
A few things that I have been having a look at and potentially considering are things like working abroad and teaching abroad. How to get around i.e Inter-railing, flying or driving. So a few other helpful sites have been: eslstarter.com accidentadvicehelpline.co.uk/driving-etiquette gap360.com lonelyplanet.com realgap.co.uk
If you have any helpful sites or travel tips please do let me know as I want to be fully prepared. Im hoping to save up enough money to do a round the world trip and I really would like to go around April/May 2016 so I have plenty of time to save and plan! I hope you like this new little feature and are looking forward to hearing more about my plans :)
