Review + Swatches: The Body Shop ColourGlide Shine Lip Colour Lipsticks

The Body Shop ColourGlide ShineLip Colour Lipsticks are TBS’s new range of sheer lipsticks that give a lovely wash a colour and a gorgeous glaze. These ultra-soft lippies come in 10 different shades that all give your lips a dewy shine. I have these beautiful lippy’s in shades 03 – Pink Flash* and 12 – Ruby Sparkle*.

The bullets look very luxurious and not at all what I’d expect from TBS. The silver and copper actually make them look fairly high-end, which is nice as I hate cosmetics that look cheap.
All of the colours are slightly shimmery, but it’s very subtle when on the lips. They’re not big chunks of glitter so glide on smoothly and don’t leave you looking like a disco ball.

For sheer lipsticks the colours are very rich and very buildable to a semi-opaque, lustre finish. They’re also extremely moisturising.
The colours are very wearable, and if you’re as intimidated by red lipsticks as I am then Ruby Sparkle is the perfect start for you.

Pink Flash has to be my favourite out of the two. Although it looks like Barbie pink in the bullet, it’s very soft and quite neutral, making it the perfect daytime colour.

The Body Shop’s amazing makeup artist gave us a quick beauty tip, which I’ve actually fallen in love with. Blending a tiny bit of black eyeliner on the lips before applying your lipstick changes the colour completely; Ruby Sparkle turns into a gorgeous, deep berry colour, which is very fitting during A/W.

The only thing I don’t like about these lipsticks is that they don’t last particularly long. I get about 2 hours wear from them without eating or drinking. I don’t mind it too much as they feel more like a balm than a lipstick on the lips. They do however leave behind some shimmer on your lips so it’s important to top up regularly to avoid looking like a glitter ball! They’re also really soft. Both of mine are bit wobbly and I don’t think they’d last well if I were to take them somewhere hot!
Bottom line: For £10 I think these are lovely if you’re into sheer, lustre finish lip colours. If you manage to catch one of TBS’s amazing promotions then you could probably pick a few up for £5-7 each – bargain, no?
The Body Shop ColourGlide Shine Lip Colour Lipsticks are available from The Body Shop online and in store, priced at £10 each.
