The Blacklist, Preschool & Fruity Cake // #LittleLoves

Happy Friday! Thank you for all your lovely comments and well wishes last week, the boys and i are feeling much better and ‘touch wood’ we’ve had a relatively germ-free and stress-free week. I’m quite relieved as it’s been miserable and bitterly cold weather wise and i don’t think i could have coped with that as well as another week of snotty noses, croaky voices and coughing fits. I am not a Winter person at all, i NEED sunshine in my life and am desperately willing the Spring and Summer months to roll in. Is anyone else?

Anyway, on to this week’s #LittleLoves:

Read

I LOVED this post over on Our Baby Blog about their Snow Day. Jess is such a talented photographer and always captures her little family so perfectly. Mrs Shilts’s Transformation Tuesday post gave an update on her weight loss journey. She is looking AMAZING and has lost an incredible 46.5lb over the last 26 weeks thanks to Slimming World. Well done Emma, you’ve really inspired me so keep it up sweetie! Finally the photographs in this Chocolate Treacle Tart recipe from The Crazy Kitchen literally had me drooling. NOTE TO SELF: You are on a diet Vikki!

Heard

FourFiveSeconds by Kanye West, Rihanna and Paul McCartney. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.

Watched

The Blacklist. I came across this series on Sky the other night and all i can say is WOW. I was hooked after the first episode and before i knew it i’d downloaded and watched the entire first series. If you enjoy crime dramas like Criminal Minds and CSI, then The Blacklist is definitely one for you. It centres around a character called Raymond “Red” Reddington who is a former U.S. Navy officer turned high-profile criminal. He’s eluded capture for decades and then voluntarily surrenders himself to the FBI, offering to cooperate on capturing a list (the blacklist) of criminals who are virtually impossible to catch. It is gripping!

Also, i watched this video from the lovely Katie at MummyDaddyMe of her recent family weekend in Norfolk. Her photos and videos are always breathtakingly beautiful and this one is no exception.

Made

Fruity Fromage Frais Cake. It was a recipe out of my Ella’s Kitchen Big Baking Book and so simple to make. I am not a baker or chef by any means and it was a little rough around the edges but the boys loved it and it’s their opinion that matters at the end of the day right?

Wore

After a spelt of illness, Riley returned to preschool on Monday and for the first time ever IN A UNIFORM. Is it me or is there something about a uniform that makes your child suddenly become the biggest grown up kid there ever was? As soon as he put it on it was like he’d assumed a whole new persona, he was strutting around like he owned the place and literally couldn’t get in to school quick enough. It totally freaked me out because it suddenly dawned on me that he IS a grown up kid now. As much as i keep trying to deny it, i am slowly having to accept the fact that my biggest baby is growing up and doesn’t need me quite so much anymore. So here he is……modelling his uniform……looking every bit the big kid.

And Lastly…

Mr B has booked 2 weeks off of work at the end of March so this weekend we’re hoping to start planning some days out with the boys and a short family break somewhere. He is an HGV driver and works away in Belgium and France from Monday-Friday, so we don’t get to see very much of him and i’m just a little bit excited that we’ll have his undivided attention for 2 weeks! I can’t remember the last time he was home for more than a few days!

Have a great weekend all! Vikki xxx
