Reality Check: My Father's Love

I am not sure how many of you still have your biological fathers here living life with you today. I also am not sure how many of you have lived life with a family member who is battling a terminal illness.

This month marks marks nine years since my dad passed away. Although his death was unexpected at the time, I have learned so much from his short life, as well as the other men who have been father figures to me along the way. Further, I have found and experienced the redemption of my Heavenly Father. His comfort, faithfulness, and love is like none other.

While scrolling through social media earlier this week I came across the video above. I am not sure why all of my emotions fell to the floor at once, but I do know that I felt impacted by a weight from above.

As much as I love the heart behind this father's motive in the video above, I also truly adore the lyrics to the song. I was honestly bawling my eyes out like a baby as soon as the video hit ten seconds. The emotion in this father's love for his daughters and wife, and the emotion in the lyrical story is equally so captivating. You can read the lyrics here.

In life there is so much emotion. In love there is so much emotion. In Christ there is so much emotion.

It is with great thanks I say emotion is involved in all walks of life because it is emotion that keeps us moving constantly. Emotion is the tendency of a heart that longs to serve.

Dear Sisters reading today, No matter what you may be going through He will walk you through. He will love you just the way you are. He will be your Hero. Seek emotion along your path today.

I pray that in the days to come that I use these lyrics as a means for seeking to have others see Jesus in me in all that I say and do. I pray that others not see me, but Jesus.

This father left such a remarkable testimony for his family, faithfulness in fear of death, and that there is a happy ever after for all one day because our stories are not over after death. Jesus's story was not over after death.

This video was my reality check amidst the mundane. What will be yours?
