A few weeks back I had the opportunity to attend the Motions product launch event at De Berardinis Salon in Manhattan. The evening was filled with lots of laughter and insightful convos about the new motions line. Motions celebrity stylist Ursula Stephen walked us through each product, how to use it and some of her styling secrets. We had the chance to chat with Ursula in more detail about her spring hair favorites and her best tips for styling your hair using the motions line.
Which product from the Motion’s line is current favorite?
I have two! I love the new Motions Pre-Wash Detangling Butter and the Weightless Daily Cream Moisturizer.
The new Motions line has few products catered to colored treated hair, which products are essential for a natural gal that has colored hair?
I truly feel that you should use all three products in the Motions Color Care line to achieve the best results. However, the Deep Moisture Masque is the most essential, in my opinion. It helps to instantly repair dry brittle hair without stripping the color.
What is the most important tip you offer your color treated clients?
I urge my color treated client to air dry when possible, limiting the use of heat tools can help allow hair to repair itself. Also – condition, condition, condition! I recommend deep conditioning the hair on a weekly basis.

What are some of your favorite hairstyles and colors for this spring?
I’m still loving the “Lob” – it’s one of my favorite hairstyles for spring. As far as color…I’m loving the pastel colors like the soft blues, purples and lavenders.
What’s one product that every woman should have at home in case of a hair emergency?
Every girl should have a masque with them in case of an emergency! It’s the 911 of hair care.
