Review & Swatches: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion

Review & Swatches: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion
Following the massive success of their Ambient Lighting Powders, in a wash of evil genius the clever people of Hourglass decided to provide us a range of blushes too! But after littering my blog and social media platforms with my purchase, is it worth the hype?
The packaging of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is their usual reflective plastic and the compact fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Honestly, with the price of Hourglass powders, I was hoping for something a bit more substantial packaging-wise, but I suppose it is light and travel-friendly. It's also the least exciting aspect of the whole thing, so let's move on!

There are six shades available, each a hybrid of an original Ambient Lighting Powder, with a 'modern hue' mixed through. Hourglass claim their unique blend will create a "natural radiant finish with seamless, soft-focus and buildable colour". After much deliberation I took the plunge and ordered from SpaceNK via the fantastic service provided by Parcel Motel for mhuintir na hÉireann!

I chose the shade Dim Infusion, described by the brand as a subdued coral. Each powder is handmade, meaning each one is also unique in appearance. I was anxious prior to getting my hands on it, as the unique blend also means that some buyers have been less than thrilled with the colour pay off, although they are intended as a sheer wash of colour. Lucky for me, I seem to have a fair dose of coral in the top layer (though, I have a theory that they must use the same ratio of pigment to powder; meaning I may have less coral going down through the blush and for others vice versa)!

In any event, I'm very happy with the colour pay off of my particular one. It's subtle, but can be built up to an extent. Pictured below I'm wearing it as built up as I can get it, but a subtle wash over the cheeks creates the perfect effortless effect. You can watch my first impressions of the blush here.

The texture is smooth and silky, applies like a dream, and the powder lasts extremely well on the skin. It's definitely love for me and I can't, but will have to, wait to pick up a few more! Overall, they are definitely pricey at £28.00, but I feel the quality is there and it's a worthy investment! Next I've got my eye on Mood Exposure (damn you Sue!) and Radiant Magenta!
Have you tried these yet? Any interest?
