*tap tap tap* Is this thing on?

Hi everyone! As you may have figured out, my blogging has been sporadic at best. Life got super busy on me! All of my kids are in school now and I decided to go back to college. Aside from all of that, 2014 was a roller coaster year and I'm looking forward to some mellow in 2015. :) If you're still with me, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for still reading my little piece of the interwebz.

Milani Cosmetics was kind enough to send me their new lipstick launch for Spring 2015- which include MATTE lipstick! I know matte finish is all the rage lately in the beauty community (eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish, etc.) and Milani did not disappoint with the formula and pigmentation of the new lipstick. Let's check them out, shall we?

*Please excuse some of the blurry photos. I just got a new camera and I'm still learning how to use it.

As you can see, most of the colors are bright and cheery and perfect for Spring. That being said, my favorite of the lot, hands down is "Matte Confident". It is SO pigmented, I can't get over it. And it's very matte which makes it stick around for a long while. I like these matte lipsticks because they don't dry out the lips as other brands of matte lipstick seem to do. These lippies are very comfortable on the lips. My second favorite of the lot if "Matte Orchid". It's an amazing blue based fuchsia color and it's super pigmented! "Matte Glam" reminds me of MAC's "Heroine" and because of this, I want to do a comparison, so stay tuned! Wouldn't it be great to have a drugstore alternative to "Heroine?" "Matte Innocence" and "Catwalk Pink" both washed me out something fierce, but they are still both lovely colors and good for an every day lip.

I'm really excited about the matte line from Milani. I think there is a color here for everyone and the finish, formula, and pigmentation of the matte lipstick are great! At $5.99 a pop (prices may vary) you can't beat them!

Milani is available at your local CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite-Aide or online.
