9 happy songs

Today is officially the International Day of Happiness, and I think that’s a really good thing just to declare a certain day to be a day of happiness. This made me think about why one can’t really declare every day to be a day of happiness and how we can declare and share happiness in general.
Sure, you can’t just pass happiness over as we do it with goods, but maybe there are little things that make one happy and maybe it’s still possible to share happiness. At least on a small scale.
And maybe, just maybe, music is the right starting point.
There are, for example, a few songs which make me smile automatically, when I hear them.
In my head a certain story is automatically played back, some awesome situation, which is accompanied by a warm feeling in my stomach, coupled with a slight melancholy.
If I am at home, I start dancing, and if I am somewhere else, I just smile to myself while I’m shielded from the outside world. At such moments there is only me and the song.
Such songs are very personal – maybe these are not always the best, the most popular or the coolest ones, but they tell stories that inspire – and make one happy.

Today I would like to introduce to you a few of my favorite songs about happiness, not to show you new songs, but rather to share a story with you.

9 favorite songs, that make me happy

The Kooks – Naive
I think it was my very first ringtone, when it suddenly turned out that one can also use right songs as ringtones. At that time I was still a high school student and every day after school I went to drink a cup of coffee with my friends and to talk about music. I can remember that no one could understand why I liked this song so much, as I used it as a ringtone for years, because I just could not listen enough. Nothing has changed, by the way.

Frittenbude – Mindestens in 1000 Jahren
This is one of my favorite good mood songs ever! I listened to it very often, when I lived in Cologne and used to party at Ehrenfeld. It was a song that always triggered the party mood in me, and when it was played at parties, I sang it aloud and jumped. Even today, when I listen to this song, I get a grin that could hardly be wider.

The Killers – Somebody told meT
Those who know me long enough, know that there were times when I was I a mega Emo Scene Girl, but instead of listening hardcore and metal, I preferred moderate indie. And when I went to a party (we left our basements sometimes), it was one of the songs we celebrated most. When I hear the beginning of this song today, I feel like I am back to that time again.

Macklemore – Can’t hold us
I’m not really a hip hop fan, but my 23rd birthday was actually one of my best birthdays and an absolute hit. At the time I held a lot of awesome house parties and just loved to organize them, be that my birthday, New Year, Halloween or whatever – my house parties were the best, and Macklemore made them even a little bit better :)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Sacrilege
I had come across this song long ago and just could not get away with it. I listened to it again and again for months, especially while travelling with Jana. That’s why this song is somewhat of a blogger story for me – and also somewhat of an adventure.

The Klaxons – Golden Skans
This song was also one of my favorite ones throughout my school and university time, and it brings back fond memories of first parties and first butterflies in my stomach.

Oliver Koletzki – Hypnotize
Last year, I paid my attention to Oliver Koletzki and have listened to all of his songs throughout the summer. I think that summer is Berlin is really great; every weekend there is a new festival, and this Berlin DJ easily makes me dance, and this song was the one I liked most.

Beyonce – 7/11
I was not a big fan of Beyonce so far, but this song moved her so high in my sympathy list, that I could not help celebrating it, because this song is just awesome! I can’t even count how many times I have listened to it. The song is just perfect for ironic dances which are known to be the most fun.

Zhu – Faded
The newest song on my list is definitely this one, as I hardly listened to any other song for so many times during my exciting fashion week month, almost 24 hours a day. I still find it endville.

But any song surely sounds twice as good when one has cool sound and makes twice as much fun when you’re not tangled in wires.
Therefore, I prefer using my Boomster Box from Teufel, a kind of a modern ghetto blaster, but with better quality, Bluetooth 4.0, better aptX transmission, NFC, FM radio and powerful downfire subwoofer. I use it while tidying up, during cozy evenings with friends, as well as for balcony sessions. It can be used both outdoors and indoors, and it’s just amazing, what bass and volume this medium-sized box can generate.

But that’s not my only product from Teufel!
When I go outside, however, I enjoy using my new wireless Teufel Airy headphones which are simply ultra comfortable while providing such a great and clear sound that you do not feel yourself to be a part of the world outside any more. At the same time people hardly notice that you are wearing headphones, just because there are no cables, everything is controlled via Bluetooth 4.0. Due to the 20 hour battery life and a hands-free device these headphones are simply the perfect companion on the road – and they also fit your style!
A really awesome thing through and through!

But the best comes the last:
One of you can win a Teufel Airy!
You just need to say in what situation you would use your Airy.
Whether you are going to use it while vacuuming or while watering your flowers – anything will do, but don’t forget to leave your email address so I can contact the lucky winner.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!
