Christmas Shopping at Bicester Village

Last night me and Eva travelled up to Oxfordshire for the press launch of the Bicester village Christmas opening. If you are not familiar with Bicester village…it is a village-style retail park filled with mainly designer discount stores. Brands include Mulberry, Dior, Burberry, Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent & Gucci. It also includes high-street brands such as Clarks and the shop Eva wanted to go in – Cath Kidston.

Bicester village has been transformed into an enchanted shopping winter wonderland and we were treated to seasonal food, live entertainment and activities. There was even a private Christmas carriage on Chilton Railways which unfortunately me and Eva couldn’t catch…we went about an hour later.

After Eva enjoyed herself decorating gingerbread men, dressing up and making crackers we hit the shops! Eva bought herself some animal decorations from Cath Kidston and I purchased some presents for Luke’s birthday. We were also treated to some gifts in some stores such a washbag from Kipling, a wallet from Jaeger, passport leather holder from Smythson and a scarf from Tommy Hilfiger.

I have never been to Bicester Village before and definitely need to come back on my own or with another adult to help entertain Eva (there is a play area). After she has done and bought what she wants there really is no compromise and the little madam will moan the rest of the time. I was keen to dig out some designer bargains.

A similar event is open to the public on the 6th of November and guests can enjoy a host of entertainment and festive food offerings until 9:00pm. On the 28th of November Black friday you can get some serious Christmas shopping done with additional discounts – open until midnight!
