Daniel’s Graduation

Hi Everyone!

Daniel, my eldest son, always wanted to be a doctor since he was 5 years old. Last week he graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College. It was a very proud and happy week for me, my husband and Daniel’s two siblings.

On Wednesday we went to the convocation ceremony where Daniel received 5 awards of excellence.

* The Henry Adelman Memorial Award for excellence in Geriatric medicine for clinical and academic performance in the field of geriatrics.

* The Richard N. Kohl Prize for excellence in Psychiatry for great proficiency in the field.

* The Leonard P. Tow Humanism In Medicine award for demonstrating highest standard of compassion and sensitivity in patient interaction.

*The Moselle and Milton Pollack Prize in Medical Ethics for exceptional interest and ability in the field of medical ethics.

*The Compassionate Physician Award for demonstrating compassion and empathy in patient care.

We went to an awesome dinner afterwards at En Japanese Brasserie in the West Village.

On Thursday we attended the graduation ceremony at the Carnegie Hall. It was especially meaningful to hear Daniel and his friends recite the Hippocratic Oath and pledge their commitment to this noble profession.

From the ceremony we went to a reception at the Hilton Hotel. This is a photo of me and my daughter Ariel, who is following in her brother’s footsteps and preparing to go to medical school in 2 years upon completion of her pre-med requisites.

We ended the graduation celebrations with a nice sushi dinner.

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Shalev
