Review + Swatches: SEVENTEEN Cheek Stamp Blush - Stare Struck

Maybe I dreamt it, or perhaps it was just a limited edition product, but I'm pretty sure that SEVENTEEN had stamp blushes before? A couple of years ago perhaps? Does anyone remember that? I hope so! Regardless of my questionable memories SEVENTEEN have just launched these new Stamp Blushes into their line ready for Spring and I must say the colours are very season appropriate - although you can of course wear whatever colour you want whenever you want!
// var _gaq = _gaq || (); _gaq.push(('_setAccount', 'UA-37824282-1')); _gaq.push(('_trackPageview')); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')(0); s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); //
As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
As I can't decide whether these have been around before (see my ramble at the beginning), we're going to pretend that they're not and say they're new - they did have a new sticker in Boots, so new colours at least! They are a powder blush that comes with it's own spring loaded sponge applicator and mirror on the outside - very travel friendly. They do look a little gimmicky but I find that they work, which is all that matters to me. There are 5 shades available, some of which are more bronze in shade, all with a definite spring/summer theme. Each one is priced at just £4.99 and available at Boots.

The Formula
From the off I want to say that these don't really work very well with a blush brush, I've tried using one straight into the pan and it doesn't pick up very much product. However when using the sponge applicator provided I get a very strong pigmentation, so I suggest using it with a light hand or dabbing a little excess product onto the back of your hand first. Once on the face you will need to do some blending, either with your fingers or very carefully with the applicator. If you over apply though a great tip for 'dulling down' the colour is to use your just used foundation brush (with no new product) to buff over the top. Using this double layer method I find that I get a good 7 hours wear from this, which is quite long! I think that it would last less time without the foundation over the top, but the clown look isn't something I opt for!

Colour & Finish
I can't lie, this isn't the easiest product to work with, but there's no denying the result is pretty! The colour is a pretty, deeper mauvey pink with a very strong silvery pink sheen to it. It's very intense - the kind of intensity that I would normally use as a highlight, but with added colour! But for certain looks I like it - you have been warned though! Saying that, the method of application I use does dull this down a little!

The Good - Innovative idea that hasn't completely flopped, long lasting, cheap, value, practical packaging for travel, pigmented.
The Not so Good - It has the shimmer intensity of a highlight, application can be a little awkward, doesn't really work with a brush.
Would I Repurchase? Probably not, but it's nice to have :)
Price & Availability - £4.99, Boots.
SEVENTEEN do hold a bit of a soft spot in my heart, I haven't quite figured out why, they just do! I'm generally really impressed with their products, having found some gems in their line - although as with all brands there are products that I'd skip! I'm intrigued to have a look at the other shades of this blush though, hopefully they'll have some testers next time I visit!
