French Skincare Haul

I feel like a total failure of a blogger having visited Paris for the first time in 5 years and only picking up 3 things from a pharmacy. We were there for such a short time, I whizzed around a pharmacy early on intending to hit another before we left but alas.. it wasn’t to be. I was happy to finally get my hands on Serozinc (a hugely hyped toner for oily skin) and had there been more than one on the shelf I”d have bough 2 or 3 but everything else is easily found here in the UK.. less exciting but I did get a tiny discount in euros.. very small but worth mentioning.

I’ve had a couple of smaller bottled of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and the scent is intoxicating, I just ran out of the last so a large bottle was top of my paris wishlist. I saved a couple of pounds but more than anything I don’t think I could have parted with £30 quite for something that I’m not certain does much for my skin.. but while you’re on holiday it’s just monopoly money, isn’t it? The La Roche Posay Cicaplast is another product I’m repurchasing, it’s something that I like to have in because it works for so many different skin issues. Anything from Eczema to nappy rash to chemical burns (from naughty masks and even naughtier users) it’s a miracle worker and unlike 8 Hour Cream isn’t non greasy and actualy absorbs in to the skin. Lastly the Serozinc.. I am already obsessed but much the same as the Caudalie I can’t be sure it’s actually doing anything for me.. it’s just so refreshing to mist your skin with something cool in the morning. I’ve been using it before applying makeup in the mornings because I’ve heard it helps to control oil.. I’m not sure I’d pay the big bucks to import it via eBay yet but the hype made me buy it and the aerosol made me love it.

I did also buy these makeup remover wipes which were terrible, I’m only including them as a cautionary tale.. really.. don’t buy them. I got a TON of samples to add to my draw of many small things (I’m consider doing a ‘video tour’ of said drawer.. it’s kind of mad how many miniatures I’ve collected) – those of you who shop in France often will have to tell me, is this normal? I spent more than 40 euros so is this why or are they just super generous with the skincare samples over there? I often think that’s something missing from Boots etc.. even the odd sample of brands they sell would be nice. Seems the only samples I ever received are with very expensive items and of other very expensive items that I can’t REALLY afford.. hmm.

So that’s everything I picked up, not much of much really but if you’re interested I filmed a ramble about not only this but some Asian skincare bits I was recently sent and am trialling - watch here
