Since I received the first email from NYX about the new
Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick, I've been waiting to give them a shot. I have multiple different colors of the
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and I'm all about matte lip colors this season (
can you tell?!). As soon as these were available through the
Ulta online store, I snagged to dark grey I had my eyes on.
I dig this color. It's a blue-ish grey and is soft, similar to the soft matte lip creams.
Pros ❖ Affordable at around $7 each and
easily accessible through Ulta.
❖ A line of wearable colors! Like I said, I hope to swatch the others and maybe get more.
❖ Easy application and removal (but, uh, the easy removal is a little
too easy)
❖ Unlike the Soft Matte Lip Creams, this lip color can doesn't feel as drying after prolonged wear.
❖ Cruelty Free!
❖ No feathering
Cons ❖ The applicator brush is flimsy. You're better off using a lip brush.
❖ Not as matte as I had hoped. The finish is still great, but I was hoping for a true matte like my Colourpop Ultra Mattes. It doesn't 'set' and instead has the texture of a lipstick.
❖ Doesn't wear well with eating and drinking. It's not kissable. Well, I mean, it
is kissable, but your kissee is going to have some grey lip marks on 'em.
❖ It does wipe off easily, which can be messy for a color like this!
Comparatively, I would say that I prefer the
Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte, the
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, and the
Lime Crime Velvetines over the consistently of this cream lipstick. I really want it to be the best thing since sliced bread, but it seems as though it will be better for short-term wear.
Have you tried the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks yet? Which
color are you coveting the most? Would you wear grey lips?
