This chic 950-square-foot, two-bedroom, one-bathroom Chicago loft belongs to decorator Shelby Girard. To make her small space feels lighter and airier, she painted the walls white and used L-shaped furniture to maximize seating. Purchasing primarily from affordable big-box retailers, scoring thrift finds and making a few DIY pieces, she was able to stretch her small budget.
