Baby boy has been dealing with eczema since he was an infant. It hasn’t yet gone away and honestly, it can be pretty bad at times. I feel terrible when I see him scratching away and just wish I could make it all go away. Thankfully, we’re able to help ease and lessen the amount of eczema flare ups by using appropriate skin care products and following certain guidelines. We recently had the chance to test out a couple of new products with baby boy; read on to see what we thought about SheaMoisture baby wash and lotion, plus learn a few eczema tips we follow!
We were sent two new SheaMoisture products to try out: SheaMoisture Raw Shea, Chamomile & Argan Oil Baby Head-to-Toe Wash & Shampoo and SheaMoisture Raw Shea, Chamomile & Argan Oil Baby Healing Lotion, both of which you can find at Walmart for $9.94. First, let me share that all SheaMoisture products are cruelty-free and do not contain parabens, sulfates, paraffin, phthalates, mineral oil, petroleum, gluten, synthetic fragrance, or artificial colors. Many of the ingredients used are also certified organic. Already, this is all a plus, because when you’re dealing with sensitive skin and eczema, you don’t want extra ingredients like fragrance or dyes.
I have to say that these products smell great! I was a little worried about their scent since they both have frankincense and myrrh (scents I’m unfamiliar with), but they really did not disappoint. My 9-year-old girl is big on product scents and she complimented baby boy on how he smelled! (She also asked if she could use them herself since they smell so good!)
SheaMoisture’s baby healing lotion was a hit with pretty much the entire household – I used it on myself in addition to baby boy and loved the fact that it doesn’t leave behind a greasy feeling. The wash and shampoo gave the bath water a lovely scent (which baby boy really enjoyed) and cleansed his skin wonderfully, without being harsh.

These tips work for us in caring for baby boy’s skin, but it’s always a good idea to consult your child’s pediatrician before starting a new skin care routine. Some of these we’ve learned over the years and others were provided by the SheaMoisture folks.
What eczema tips can you share with us that have worked for your family? Have you tried SheaMoisture products before?
