Spiced Apple Cake

While I do love some pumpkin flavored treats, my favorite Fall flavor is usually just plain spice. Last weekend I tried out this recipe and it was FULL of Fall spice and so so so good!
Here's What You'll Need...
- 2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (I felt like it had a LOT of clove flavor... so if you're not the biggest clove fan I would cut this down to 1/4 or even 1/8 tsp.)
- 3/4 cup sugar - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature - 1 cup apple butter - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt - 2 eggs
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar - milk - ground nutmeg (I used cinnamon instead)

Step 1 - Set the oven to 350 degrees
Step 2 - Whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves) and set aside.

Step 3 - Cream the butter and sugar until it's light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the apple butter. (Little helpers optional) ;)

Step 4 - Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the yogurt... begin and end with dry. Mix until combined... don't overbeat.

Step 5 - Coat a 9x5 loaf pan with baking spray (I LOOOOVE the Pam for baking!) and bake for about 55 minutes (or until a toothpick comes out clean).

Step 6 - While the bread is cooling, prepare the glaze. Simply add milk to the powdered sugar until you get it the "thickness" that you want. Then sprinkle in some nutmeg (or cinnamon! I switched mine out at the last minute).

Step 7 - When the cake is almost cool, drizzle on the glaze.

Look how moist! My family GOBBLED this up! It is so full of flavor and perfect with a big cup of hot tea.

Enjoy, friends!!!
PS - Thank you to whoever it was that suggested I add the ingredients and steps all at one place in my post - great tip! Hope this is helpful! :)
