Life Lately: Planning for Winter

I've been brainstorming ways to keep these two buddies busy this coming winter when the new baby arrives. Right now, there are very few things that can keep their attention for a long time... other than a good Disney movie... which is very tempting for those first few exhausting weeks of bringing another kid into the world. But, I've got to get more creative. The kids are slowly becoming more interested in books, puzzles, Duplos, and their train set, but I need some ideas to throw at them.

We're going to try a couple new activities over the next few weeks to see if they have any interest in them. At this age, my kids aren't into art projects or crafts. They'd rather organize crayons on the table rather than actually create a picture with them. Same goes for Playdoh, chalk, and markers. BUT, we haven't tried watercolor paints, yet! This could be their "thing."

What are different activities you do as a family, or that your toddlers do independently, to pass the time, stay engaged, and potentially learn something?
