Luminous – A Pattern Test
In this crafty world we live in, we quite often have the opportunity to meet like-minded people. Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting one such lady – Abby, from Things For Boys! Last week, Abby put the call out for patterns testers. She has designed a fabulous pattern called “Luminous”, and I quite happily offered my assistance! Yesterday, I got to choosing fabrics for the rainbow version, and whilst it was a little tricky finding colours that would work to give the illusion of transparency, I think I did ok…..
In fact, I think I did bloody brilliantly!!! I absolutely ADORE this cushion cover! And it was loads of fun to make. I don’t do rainbow often, but this may be the start of a rainbow-addiction.
The quilting was fun too. I got out my Aurifil collection and matched up different colours to each print. I think there are 13 colours in total! It was a lot of mucking around with changing of threads and threading of needles – but totally worth the end result! The white fabric is actually an Alison Glass text print, although you can’t see it in the photos. And yet again, another cushion cover destined to be gifted to someone else. One day I’ll make myself one!
So – keep your eye out for Abby’s pattern release!! You can find her on IG @abbythingsforboys for updates on its arrival.
