My plans for 2015

Hi everyone

I hope you’ve all had a great start into the New Year. Amy and I spent New Year’s Eve with my family who we are currently living with while we’re trying to find the perfect new home for us and as every year, it’s a big New Year’s tradition in this house, we enjoyed an evening of Raclett, board games and lots of giggles. Of course, there were some bubbly and fireworks as well. There’s no chance, Amy would have let us go to bed without the latter. She’s obsessed with them!

Either way, we all made it into the New Year in one piece and today I found myself thinking about the things I want to do in 2015 and I thought I might as well share them with you because a) you might be interested and b) this might force me to actually do and achieve some of these things for once. I know I’m a couple of days late, but the last week was kind of busy as my sister was still here before going back to work and we wanted to make the most of our time together, but here, without further ado, my plans for 2015:

Be more organised

I’ve bought a planner that allows me to plan not only my personal life and appointments, but also my blog, social media work and any other to dos. I’m determined to be more organised this year as I want to make more time for Amy, my family and myself. In the past, this has often suffered because I didn’t keep on top of things or forgot about them and had to deal with them at the last minute, but I hope I’ll have everything done well in advance – or at least on time. Let’s not get unrealistic!

Blog more about what really matters

I created this blog to record our life, but with time more and more (sometimes paid) opportunities came my way and some of them were too good to say no to. I’m terrible at that anyway, but what I’m trying to say is that impersonal posts took over when I have actually wanted to share the things that were going on in our life, the adventures we got up to or the craziness that is our every day life. It’s been hard to share certain aspects of our life over the last couple of months, because so many things have changed, but I want to balance out what I’m writing about on this blog a little more in 2015. I can’t promise anything, but I promise I’ll try!

I can’t remember when I’ve last finished a book and I used to be an absolute bookworm before having Amy, so I really want to get back into reading. I don’t want to set myself any ridiculous targets that I won’t be able to achieve, so I am aiming to read at least one book a month and everything on top of that will be a bonus. If you’ve got any recommendations, make sure to leave me a comment below.

See the world

Since my holidays over the last couple of years always meant going to Germany to see my family, I didn’t really have the money to travel and explore the world as much as I would have loved to. This year however, I would love to take a couple of short trips around Europe to get back into the spirit – let’s be realistic, as a single mum, I’ll hardly be able to afford a three week trip to New Zealand, but Amsterdam, Vienna or Kopenhagen will do me just fine for now!

Get back in touch with my best friend from school

It’s been a thing that I have been thinking of a lot over the last couple of months, maybe because they were so difficult and I know that she would have been amazing to have by my side, but my best school friend and I lost touch when we started university. We had been growing apart gradually during our last year at secondary school and I know that it’s entirely my fault because I didn’t realise how important a true friend really was and I put stupid little things first, but I would really love to get back in touch with her and maybe make a fresh start, if she’s thinking the same way. We were inseparable for 10 years and did everything together and I hope that there maybe is a second chance, because she really is a wonderful person and I’d love her to meet Amy and I’d love to meet here little girl, instead of hearing about her from friends.

What are your plans, hope and dreams for 2015? Have you got any New Year’s resolutions and how do you go about achieving them?
