Malaysia | Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

One of the wonderful places we visited in Malaysia was the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park which is a public aviary right in the heart of the city. The bird park houses more than 3000 birds and over 200 species and requires lots of walking. We had a really lovely afternoon there and I enjoyed seeing the fear on my friends' faces whenever a bird came near them. Joking. Not joking.
Orlaith's favourite part was a little room where the baby chicks were. There were tubs with a few baby chicks and ducklings in each, and then a hot cupboard with trays of eggs, and inside we saw one duckling that had just hatched. It was too adorable!
If you're interested in nature or birds this is the perfect place for you. I saw birds I've never seen before and the place was so huge, with lots of room for most of the birds to wander/fly around. My favourite part was seeing an ostrich there (in an enclosed pen). I find ostriches incredible. And just being in such a green and lush place was wonderful. There was a huge downpour while we were there (hello rainy season!) but we hid for 10 minutes until it was over and then continued our fun expedition.
