Happy Valentine’s Day | cards

Welcome to the first official Pop It Ups Designer Challenge Team Challenge (say that three times fast!). This months challenge was to use one of the three pivot cards from Karen’s new Pop It Ups Line with ECD. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I chose the Heart Pivot Card.

I am loving how this project turned out… and it was super easy! Four quick and easy cards in no time flat! I also am crushing on Head Over Heels Bo Bunny paper I found.

I used four different pieces of cardstock for the background and two pieces of double sided patterned paper. I kept the design the same for each card to make production fast. However by mixing and matching the different papers, it gives each card it’s own distinct look.

On the inside of the card I used different words from the Lawn Fawn Happy Everything stamp set to create the sentiment plus a little heart, which I colored with a Copic.

Fun tip: When I adhered my patterned paper on the front of my card before I cut it with the heart, I only added adhesive to the top, right side, and bottom edges. When the card was open and I cut it with the pivot die and then folded it, that made the patterned front heart piece loose (i.e. not glued down). I snipped the two pieces holding that heart away using scissors. That patterned paper heart piece from the front now fits perfectly on the inside left heart in the card. I then went back on the front and glued down the remaining patterned paper edges.

Close Up

Instead of showing all four cards individually, I decided to show a close up of just one since they are all the same basic design. I picked my personal favorite. ;-)

The cute key and smaller heart pieces were made with coordinating dies that are included with the Heart Pivot die.

I love making batches of cards like this. Lots of cards in a short amount of time! There is also a Katie Label Pivot Card die set as well as a Butterfly Pivot Card die set.
