morning jam: AVAN LAVA “Wanna Live” + Show Recap!

Wow. I don’t know what to say besides AVAN LAVA are an incredible band, in the studio and especially on stage.

When Avan Lava took the stage at Milkboy last Wednesday, I knew it was going to be good…but it wasn’t just good, it was fucking spectacular. The show started with full force and stayed that way all the way through. Playing most of their new album Make It Real (out now on Atlas Chair Records), the band showered us with confetti cannons, an epic light show, and synchronized dances. Thanks to the electric energy from the band, the Philly crowd got a dance workout worthy of Studio54.

Lead singer TC Hennes has an incredible, boundless voice that soaring whether he was dancing, jumping out into the crowd, or straight-up standing on his head doing yoga poses on the stage. You can tell that the band is having an amazing time together and the show becomes the ultimate dance party. The crowd did not want the show to end, and luckily the band agreed to an encore.

Avan Lava then ended their show strong with their cover of one of my favorite songs by Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. “Somebody To Love Me”. If you haven’t seen this band yet, make sure you are closely following them on Songkick to see when they are coming to your town. If you love to dance, it’s an experience you do not want to miss.
