Lucas, My Light: A 5 Year Old Soul

Staying true to my birthday tradition (in which I capture each child with a tailor-made photo shoot), I give you Lucas, at 5 years of age.

Since Lucas is my first born, he obviously holds of a very special place in my heart. Weighing in at 9lb 9oz, his boisterous personality must have been lurking somewhere beneath all that baby fat. I’ve been told, by more than one individual, that Lucas has charisma. As his mother, I can definitely attest to the fact that Lucas has a certain “something” that makes him seem far beyond his years. We recently bumped into a man, named Lucas, and he informed us that the name is derived from Latin, meaning light. My first thought? Nothing could be closer to the truth. Art direction and set up were very organic as I try not to stress a kid out. Luckily, Lucas has a knack for art direction and was not shy about suggesting ideas along the way. I just hope I did this boy justice and captured that certain “something” which makes his 5 year old-soul…shine.
