For this year's comfortable Christmas, I'm doing the house in neutral colors, with natural fibers and different textural elements. In coming up with the centerpiece for our table, I wanted to combine all of those elements in one small piece. These trees collected on a white square dish with some tipped pinecones and cinnamon sticks turned out better than I had envisioned!
Like most of my crafts, this is super cheap and very simple. You'll need:
- Styrofoam cones
- Straight pins (I used pearlized heads so that you can seem them, but I recommend using dressmaker's pins since they are harder to see)
- Various cords, ropes and/or twines
- Additional laces or other embellishments to use for garland
For the tree topper you'll need
- Two paper stars (I used a star punch I picked up at the craft store)
- Toothpick
- Doublestick tape
