Spring Clean

I like spring---- even if it’s 80 degrees here year round, spring is still a time of change, blooming flowers, and usually a time to stop procrastinating and really take a moment to deep clean, organize, and spruce up our home. :)
It's no secret that we love a clean home--- I mean, I wrote a whole post on how to keep a home tidy, haha. It's also no secret that we can all be slight clean-freaks around here. Like, we all get pretty anxious if the house isn't neat. We're not typically out of sight out of mind people--- we like things to be neat all around--- no messy cabinets or closets for hiding things (with the exception of Marlowe’s toy cabinet-- that can get pretty messy). So the one thing that has been sort of driving me nuts over this past year has been our laundry situation. I mean, it’s not out of control by any means, but man, I hate to look at the laundry pile in our bedroom.

We do most of our home goods shopping (with the exception of thrifting) at the T.J. Maxx near us. And basically every time I go, I eye the laundry baskets (and all the home organizing things). And basically every time, I debate, grab one, and put them back---- but finally, after a year or so of procrastination, we solved the problem with the easiest solution there was: closed wicker baskets with lids. Easy peasy. And I couldn't feel more relieved. Dirty laundry out of sight and out of mind. One pretty basket to organize the whites (Alex's chef coats) and one pretty basket to organize all the rest of the colorful items.

I've said it before, you don't need a lot of things, you just need a few good items you love. It's easy to take care of the things we love--- so even if its just taking the extra moment to purchase a basket to organize your goods, it can be worth it. A clean house is a happy house. And a happy house is easy to love ;)

Two pretty baskets later and our room looks brighter, cleaner, more organized, and ready for springtime! Hooray!
