Naturebox Review

I was recently introduced to the Naturebox snack subscription by my friend Karly from A Simple Pantry. It’s pretty straightforward- a monthly healthy snack subscription where you choose the snacks. I’ve been trying to eat less junk lately, so I figured this would be a good way to have snacks on hand that wouldn’t go directly to the hips upon swallowing, haha. Karly was able to send me an invite that gave me a free Naturebox (I still had to pay shipping which was $7.95 to Canada, but in the end pretty worth it, I’d say) and I figured because I’d already paid shipping, I’d buy a few extras while I was at it, so I got some sun-dried tomato garlic kale chips and four granola bars.

So anyways, the monthly Naturebox subscription is $19.95 and you get five snacks of your choosing. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a mishap with my order and turns out two of the snacks I’d chosen were out of stock. Because I’d ordered right away, and I guess they were out of stock right after my order was placed, I ended up supposed to be getting two random snacks in place of the ones I’d chosen that had sold out. I was a bit annoyed by this because I didn’t even know I was getting random snacks until they got here, and they weren’t things I’d have picked for myself, but oh well. On top of that, one of the random snacks they were meant to send in place of something I’d picked wasn’t even in the box at all, so I only ended up getting four snacks. Again, annoyed, but I contacted their support right away and they were super nice and apologetic and have now included two free snacks on my next box (so I’ll have ALL the snacks, yum!). I’m pretty happy with that resolution and how quick they were to respond, so I’m definitely ordering a box again next month. Anyways- onto what I got!

The first snack I chose was the california peaches. I wanted something sweet because sometimes I get random sweet cravings even though I don’t really like sweet things, so I went with these. There were a few pieces that were a bit thinly sliced and therefore dried out a bit too much and were hard to chew, but the thicker sliced peaches were SO delicious. I loved that the only thing on the ingredients list were just straight up peaches, it doesn’t get better than that. I’d get these again! I also read in the product feedback on the Naturebox site that someone chops these up and adds them to their tea to flavor it, so I’m definitely going to try that!

Next up are the cashew power clusters. I didn’t choose these myself- they were one of the snacks sent in place of something I’d chosen that was sold out. I love cashews, but I was a bit unsure about these initially because I was under the impression that they’d be sweet and fused together with honey or something too sweet for my liking. They’re actually quite tasty and not nearly as sweet as I thought. They’re a good way to get my cashew fix without eating a lifetime supply of fat in one sitting (because let’s be real, I can NOT just only eat a small handful, haha). I’d get these again.

These are the coconut date energy bites and are really the only snack out of the four I got that I’m on the fence about. They taste fine, though a little too sweet, but I’m mainly just not a huge fan of the texture as they’re quite soft (well duh, they’re dates). I’ve kept them in the fridge to make them not so smooshy and that’s helped a bit, but I don’t think I’ll be choosing these again.

Last but not least, the guacamole bites. Karly recommended these ones to me, and they were definitely my favorite out of the four because I’m a total salty/savory lover. They were a bit TOO zesty at times, but that was kind of a good thing because it meant I wouldn’t sit there and eat the entire bag in one sitting (guilty, haha). Cole loved these too, judging by how he scarfed the whole damn bag in the first week without my noticing. Rude ;) I will definitely order these again.

Not pictured are the kale chips and granola bars I also ordered. I loved both… well, all three, because I ordered two flavors of granola bars. One was mocha almond, and one was pineapple coconut. They were very flavorful and filling- and a nice change from eating regular ol’ Nature Valley granola bars or whatever else I usually buy. The kale chips were DELISH. I have made my own baked kale chips before, but the sun-dried tomato and garlic seasoning on these ones was just deeeeeelicious. Cole, the king of the kale haters, even liked them! My only complaint about these is that it’s a rather small portion that you’re paying $6 for. Even with that being said, I’d definitely buy these again but it looks like they’re currently sold out, so I’ll get them on my next box if they’re around.

Overall, I loved Naturebox. Yes, there were some hiccups with my first box but they were quick to resolve them and I loved the snacks. I’m super excited for my next order! If you’re interested, you can sign up here. That’s not an affiliate link, I just really like Naturebox! After a few months of me being subscribed, I’ll be able to give out some free box subscriptions so I’ll keep you guys updated on if and when that happens!

Have you tried Naturebox or any other food subscription?
