Get the Look: Olivia for Elle Espana

Olivia has one of the best faces to make up in the business. She’s symmetrical, has incredible features to play up and most importantly, a beautiful canvas to work with – clearly she takes great care of her skin! For this particular cover shoot, it was important to really capture Olivia and her personal style. Because of this, I kept her makeup very neutral and flexible to what she was wearing. There’s a 70’s vibe happening this season so my inspiration for her beauty look was Ali MacGraw, particularly her character in the movie, Love Story.

I started out by prepping Olivia’s skin with the following products, Tatcha’s Deep Hydration Firming Serum (this also acts as a great foundation primer for whatever water based foundation you use on top), Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm and John Master’s Organics Lip Calm lip balm.

For her complexion, I used Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick (these are great for touch ups because they dual as foundation and concealer in one) and finished her face setting with Diorskin Nude Air Powder.

On the eyes I wanted washes of color across her lids. For this application I used only my fingers. First, I use Makeup Forever’s Aqua Cream Eye Shadow in Satin Brown as the base all over the lid. To add more depth and dimension, I use Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Eyes to Mesmerise’ Cream Shadow in Mona Lisa. To finish the look, I use Dior Addict It Lash Mascara in black.

Olivia has incredible cheekbones so I tried not to sculpt to much. I used Dior Blush in Mimi Bronze in order to add a bit of warmth to her face.

Throwing back to our 70’s vibe, I wanted a “lived in” color that added depth and not look too made up. Hourglass Cosmetic’s Velvet Creme lipstick in Neutral Rose was the perfect shade to finish the entire look.
