Runway Report: Nina Ricci Fall 2015

Guillaume Henry’s latest foray for Nina Ricci played into a burgeoning trend for autumn/winter 15… Minimalism, with a tightly edited colour palette, simple silhouettes and for the most part, clean, sharp lines.

Block colour is another must for next season, seen here in camel, black, white and an inky navy with the odd injection of cream and a bitter chocolate brown. Desirable additions included a silver sequin, midi shift-of-sorts and a long-sleeved variation in a glittering array of tonal red sequins, not to mention the gold fringed bracelets paired with a variety of looks.

Later, texture softened the look; feathers were stitched on to flirty dresses with spaghetti straps, or on panelled knit dresses, pulled-out and woven together in a 3D effect. Outerwear was another highlight; voluminous pea coats came in black and camel, worn over ladylike lace dresses or matching light-weight knits. Smooth furs in brown and navy were also notable, seen in panels and a mix of lengths from short and boxy to the pea coat again and an ultra-glam mid-length.
