NOTD: Stars and chevron

I'm very sorry i disappeared unannounced yet again. It is the final week of school and that combined with busted lamp (which i use with the lightbox) pretty much did my head in.

However... Today I went hunting for some pinking scissors and luckily I found some! I've had these two nail art ideas in my head for a small forever and I haven't been able to execute them as I refuse to pay $5 for 20 nail art decals... So I decided to create them myself! For the $5 I got two different scissors to play with. And I may have also bought a hole puncher as well. ;)

For the bases I used China Glaze Tinsel Town for the glitter and Snow by the same company for the white. I used the ziplock bag method for the black (ChG Liquid Leather) and neon yellow (ChG Sun-Kissed), then cut the designs I wanted with scissors and hole puncher. The chevron is obviously done with the pinking scissors, the "explosions" are done with a hole puncher. Once the "stickers" where on the nails, I sealed them in using a heavy coat of Seche Vite.

This try was definitely a matter of trial and error. The stickers came a bit too thick as I used three coats of polish and they didn't really lay properly flat but it was still a fun experience! Not to mention I will be wiser on the next try. ;)
