Inkygoodness Beermat Character Exhibition

Well this has turned out to be a super busy week! Most of you will know that on tuesday I popped off to London to attend the Inkygoodness Beermat Character Exhibition / Ammo Magazine Poop Deck Project Private view! I was absolutely over the moon when I was told that I was one of the lucky people to be chosen to take part in the show. Not only because I've admired the work of inkygoodness for some time but because it finally made me feel like I had been 'accepted' in the world of illustration. I kind of feel like an outsider because I studied Graphic Design at University and not illustration. Silly I know but it gave me that little confidence boost that I needed :)

I managed to persuade my lovely boyfriend to come with me because I was super nervous. I find it really difficult to talk to people that I don't know and I'm really awkward in social situations. Luckily a glass of sailor jerrys and his presence made the butterflies disappear and I had a lovely time. I would have liked to have spoken to a few more but I'm happy with how it went :)

Here I am trying to smile at the camera next to my little woodland themed beermats. I had lots of lovely comments with people asking how I printed directly onto the mat... I didn't! Haha! I was just super careful with a glue stick and a pair of scissors. But don't tell anyone!

Each wall had a great balance of colours, design and amazing talent. There was so much to see. Every time we did a lap of the room we noticed something that we didn't see before.

There was such a big turn out that you could hardly move around the gallery. It was absolutely wonderful that so many people turned out to support the event and the people taking part. It was also a good opportunity to meet some of the faces behind the avatars on twitter!

All the participants were given name lanyards so they were easily identifiable. This is me hiding behind mine :)

The show is still running! So you still have time to pop down and check it out. Go! Please! You won't be disappointed!
