on finding balance.

Just a few photos from a rainy morning a couple weeks back. Actually taken on the same day that we visited the safari park, thus making this a record for the most consecutive posts featuring a single outfit. Off to burn it now!

Time management is something I've been struggling with lately forever. Finding time to do it all, finding balance between work and living and breathing. It's a common refrain, I know. Everyone, everywhere struggles with this (or at least, that's what I like to tell myself!). I've been pouring most of my time into trying to make my design business the best it can be. I love the work I do, and I've loved trying to build something from the ground up. It's not easy and it involves a lot of trial and error, and it's easy to bury myself in the work if I'm not careful about taking time to step away and come back. The weeks just fly by and I regularly find myself realizing that it's been way too long since I just chilled out with friends and had a glass (or many) of wine.

My blogging has been totally inconsistent too. I hate that. I focus my time on my design work and my blogging suffers as a result. I know it doesn't have to be this way. Balance. I've never been any good at finding it, but I'd like to try.

We're going to New York City next Monday, for the whole week. I am so excited, you guys. This break is so, so welcome.

Fall. My favorite season. It's always been a season of rejuvenation for me. The antithesis to what it really represents, I know, but there's something refreshing about the end of the long stagnancy of summer. A season of change. The perfect time to get away and the perfect time to try to be better at something that I've been trying to be better at for a while.

If you can recommend any must-see places/things/shops/eateries in New York, please let me know! We've both done all the touristy stuff before and are looking to just kind of relax, not plan anything out at all, and just see where we find ourselves, day to day.
