Emily's list of shows to marathon ~
Hey guys!
I know that I've already made a Netflix related post not too long ago, but I've found myself doing more of those marathon-mode things where I just pick a random show and watch all the seasons available on Netflix. SOOO I've compiled a list of shows that I would suggest, especially now that summer break is right around the corner!
Now, this was totally one of those shows I remembered my mom used to watch, and decided 'what the heck'. Wow was I surprised! The basic plot is that a model named Deb and a super-smart lawyer named Jane both die at the same time. They both head up to heaven, and Deb decides it's not really her time to go, and finds a way to come back down to earth. Only problem is - she is not Deb any more, but Jane. She now has to live life in a new body, and a new life. Now, the show does have it's moments where it gets a bit too cheesy, or a bit repetitive. I also wasn't a fan of the ending, but considering that the show was cancelled after season six, it explains why it ended how it did. OVERALL, its a super good show. It shows a strong-female lead taking charge. I would highly suggest it!
Another really good show with a strong female lead would be Hart Of Dixie.
Again, this was another show that I remembered my mom watches and decided "what the heck". The first episode made me cry and I was hooked! Big-city doctor Zoey Hart finds out that she has inherited her father's practice in the small-town of Bluebell. It's a super good show that will make you laugh, cry, go wtf???, and fall in love with these characters. Currently, seasons 1-3 are on Netflix, and it is currently airing the fourth on the CW.
If you're looking for a good laugh, I would suggest Bob's Burgers.
Ask Mike, I CANNOT go a day without watching this show. It's just the right kind of humor that isn't too over the top, but still can make you laugh. The plot is Bob is trying to run his burger joint with the help of his wife, Linda and their three kids, Tina, Gene, and Louise. As a family, they're always there to help each other out of whatever chaos they always find themselves falling into. It's honestly one of my favorite shows ever. Seasons 1-4 are currently on Netflix!
My last and final show would be American Horror Story.
Now I know this show has gotten rather big in the past year, BUT I want to focus on the first season. That was my personal favorite, Basically this family moves from Boston to a house in California and they soon find out there's nothing normal about this place. Murder house is easily my favorite season. It was the most thrilling to me. Plus, it takes about 12 hours to watch the whole thing start-to-finish, and it feels like a movie when you do that (trust me, that how I watched it haha.) If you're into things that will make you jump and go wtf, this show is for you!!
