5 reasons you should comment on your favorite blog

There’s nothing like the thrill of publishing a blog post and then waiting for the aftermath. Will they like it? What if they don’t like it? What will they say? You do you social media shares and then you wait.

The only thing worse than getting a bad response, is getting none at all. Ok, I might be exaggerating here. There’s nothing worse than rude comments, which I luckily know nothing about, but there is a sense of sadness that comes with the silence. You see, without that feedback in the comment section, it gets pretty lonely on this side of the screen. And not only.

Comments aren’t just to cheer on the blogger, they’re so much more value in them than you might think. Here’s 5 reasons why you and I should comment on out favorite blogs:

  1. Your feedback influences future content.

If you want them to post more awesome content you love, let them know what you’d like to see. Every blogger takes note of the most engaging posts and tries to offer more content like that. So be verbal and you’ll have more awesome content to read.

  2. Your comments encourage bloggers to develop their blog and brand.

There’s nothing more demotivating than writing into empty space. Speaking from my own experience, one comment boosts my confidence and motivation more than 50 000 pageviews on google analytics do.

  3. Commenting is a way to connect with your favorite bloggers.

I genuinely like to connect with you and I’m sure other blogger do, too. I answer 99% of comments I get. If you want to chat, I’m just a comment away.

  4. Your comments help your favorite bloggers to succeed.

If you love the blog and want it to stay up and running, helping that blogger grow their blog should be a no-brainer for you. Leaving comments is the easiest and cheapest way you can do that. Brands looking for collaborators look at not only the general stats of a blog (like pageviews and visitor numbers), but they also look at engagement, meaning how many comments their posts get. Your words have power beyond what you actually say.

  5. Your comment expresses your appreciation.

We are so used to getting magazine-quality content for free today that we sometimes forget how much work and effort are put into offering us that content. Even I forget, although I create it every day. By leaving a comment, even if it’s just ” Love it!” or “Thanks for the tutorial!”, we can show that we appreciate all their hard work. Yes, bloggers usually write about things they love, but it still takes time and effort to share that passion with others.

So, next time you read your favorite blog, take that extra time to give them feedback, encourage them, connect with them, help them and appreciate them. Yes, one simple comment can do all that.

Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate you immensely!
