2 Ways To Wear: Bomber Jacket

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a reader with so many great wardrobe styling questions that I decided to answer her with a series of posts (thank you, Leoni!). Several of the dilemmas she brought up are questions I get asked about quite often, so I think many of you will benefit from hearing the answers! One of the things she asked about was lightweight jackets for spring & how to embrace current trends while still remaining true to her own personal sense of style. Bomber jackets came back in a big way this year, so today I'm sharing my thoughts on why this is a great outerwear option for the season two different ways to wear them. Spoiler alert: they're more versatile than you might think!

Because the cut of this jacket is somewhat sporty and my style skews more feminine, I like to contrast the two by pairing it with pieces that have pretty details like this embroidered blouse. I'd also layer this bomber over a striped tank with jeans & sneakers for a casual weekend look. Think of it in the same way as you would your classic denim jacket - anything that you'd wear with that will work with this type of jacket too. I'm loving all the new arrivals from Sanctuary like this lace-trim shift, this white blouse & this layered top (the pieces I wore in this post are also on sale now!).

A bomber is also perfect for wearing over your spring day dresses - thanks to the slightly cropped shape, you don't have to worry about it throwing off your proportions or hiding your figure. The modern silhouette of the jacket provides a little edge to help balance out the sweetness of this tiered dress. If you're not a fan of olive green, there are lots of other options - chambray, patterned & floral.
