Gypsy Queen

Good evening. I'm being a good girl and sticking to my promise of blogging at least once a week. My life has been crazy-busy the past few weeks, but focusing on my blog and creative projects WILL be a priority this year.
Fortunately, the aforementioned hectic state of my life has been nothing but positive. I've been working hard and playing hard. I shot a lovely new model in the studio today for my Etsy shop, but am waiting to post the items until the shipping rates go up on the 26th to save the rather bothersome task of individually editing the shipping costs on each piece.
My social life has been blossoming almost to the point of unhealthiness, as I've been hitting up the local art bar almost every evening to hang out with my new found circle of friends. I'm not a big drinker, in fact one of my favorite pastimes is remaining completely sober and bemusedly observing the antics and verbal revelations of those around me. However, my sleep schedule is totally screwed up, which would probably explain for the incoherent rambling of this post. Seriously, this is a fashion blog and no one wants to hear about my random every day activities.
Moving on to the topic of fashion, this set of photographs showcases one of closest and life-long friends. Rebecca's parents and my own were friends long before either of us came into this world, so it was perfectly natural for a second generation of bosom companions to develop as a result. Not only is Rebecca a dear friend, but she's a beautiful one at that! I had been dying to take advantage of her Italian heritage (high cheekbones, luscious hair, and olive skin) and style her in the garb of an exotic gypsy queen. I think the final outcome is a happy marriage of the styles of Stevie Nicks and Scheherazade. My trusty photographer buddy Nikki A. Johnson was eager to capture this look, and I thank her once again for indulging in a collaboration. The fringe shawl and accessories are enjoying their homes in my personal collection, but this lovely iridescent skirt is for sale in my Etsy shop. Sorry, can't resist constantly pimping my wares. ;)
I'm headed out now to spend my evening with some fantastic friends and a dashing young gentleman. I hope the past week has been as kind in productivity and happiness for you readers as mine has been. I've been feeling very, VERY blessed as of late. By no means am I a Pollyanna, but I do believe in giving thanks and for the good things in life. I've certainly done plenty of bitching on this blog, so why not compensate with a little positive energy?
Hugs and kisses!
