#ablecs15 Week 5: Textured

It's time for the second mani of week 5 of #ablecs15, just in time before the week ends, phew. I wanted to do something pretty simple and also use textured polish on all my nails. I didn't want to do only textured accent nail or something like that as that's really the one thing I've been lately using textured polishes for and since this theme was all about the texture, I wanted it to have a major role in this manicure.
I kinda had to use white and blue for these nails since I did go to see the last biathlon world championship races today and I did these nails for the event. So of course I had to have white and blue to root for Kaisa, right?!
Even with my hard cheering and my appropriate nails, Kaisa didn't win today, but hey, at least I had beautiful nails!
I knew I wanted to do some sort of tape mani with a white base and some sections with the blue texture, but I struggled with the pattern a bit. I didn't want to make anything too obvious flag-like, I just wanted to use the colors from our flag. So I googled a bit, came across with this picture and used it as an inspiration. Though in the end I ended up doing the pattern a bit differently.
I used OPI Angel with a Leadfoot as my white base. I did two coats with it and then applied a coat of top coat. After it was dry I taped my nails using nail vinyls from Vinyl It Up and applied one coat with Essie Lots of Lux and then removed those vinyls. I had really forgotten already how gorgeous Lots Of Lux is. Just look at it, such a stunning one!
Eventhough my mani didn't work too well for rooting Kaisa to the first place, I still liked this look very much! It certainly reminded me that I should keep using these textured polishes more even if the trend passed a bit already. I own several stunning textures and they do deserve to get on my nails once in a while.
