Two

I apologize for going MIA – it has been a crazy two weeks (both work-wise and busy weekends). Things should be calming down for a little while so I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things and catch up with my favorite blogs.

Today, Joe and I have been married for two years. Two! I have a hard time believing that this much time has passed (it feels like it was just last week) but that’s probably because it’s so easy being married to your best friend.

Side note: I’m in a sappy mood after looking through all our wedding photos.

This is our first year with out a crazy weather phenomenon (our wedding had a wacky snow storm and our first anniversary was Hurricane Sandy) which is nice. We ended up celebrating a day early since Joe has class on Tuesday nights. It was a very relaxed kind of day, which is honestly the best kind after having such hectic weeks.

Two years ago, Joe and I were expecting to have your standard New York/New Jersey wedding (minus the marble everywhere). The forecast said snow but I almost didn’t believe it because 1) it was October and 2) the temperature was supposed to be in the 40′s all day (making it hard for snow to stick). Lo and behold, it started snowing while we were getting ready – and it started sticking soon after. Joe and I are still laughing about it because really – what are the odds?

Below are a few of my favorite wedding photos. I think that this is somehow the first time I’m sharing the professional photos with you (aside from the previews from Dan), so I hope you enjoy them :)

Thankfully, Joe and I were blessed with some of the best friends and family. Our friends found a nearby restaurant that could accommodate us (Maggiano’s) and about half of the guests joined us for a big dinner.

The next morning was perfect weather-wise. It had warmed up and the snow had started to melt. The venue was so beautiful and our Sunday afternoon celebration was so nice that it made me wonder why we hadn’t booked an afternoon reception to begin with.

Happy anniversary, Joe. I think you’re pretty cool.
