The Low-Key Genius Meaning Behind Selena Gomez's "Ugly" Hair Clip

In case you were wondering, no, Selena Gomez hasn't forgotten about that time Stefano Gabbana called her "ugly" on Instagram. Back in June, the Italian designer commented on a photo of the singer with "è proprio brutta," which roughly translates to "she's so ugly." Gomez chose not to respond at the time. But three months later, she's found a subtle — but also brilliant — way to clap back at Gabbana, as she just stepped out during New York Fashion Week wearing a hair pin that spells out the word "UGLY."

Gomez was photographed out and about in New York on Tuesday night. Her hair was pulled into a braided high ponytail, while the bedazzled hair clip sat on the right side of her head. The star hasn't made any comments about her statement-making accessory, but one can only assume that the piece is a direct response to the extremely hurtful comment that Gabbana made about her a few months back.
