SPRING MAKEUP SHAKEUP

You know how some people complain about a makeup rut? I get it, as beauty bloggers there's a certain expectation to be on the freshest cusp of all trends, products and techniques. Thing is, I kind of like having a routine -- before you ask, I am indeed 86 years young. My life just feels better when I have a routine to fall back on, and there's a weird sense of accomplishment that occurs when you develop a habit.

I resolved to switch out the contents of my vanity once a season, and it's time for a product shakeup. As much as I've loved spending time with Dior Amber Diamond and Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, I need to make way for all the spring/summer products! I don't change up my look too much, but my skin colour changes SO much that almost half the colors I wear in the winter don't work.

For the summer, I tend to go a little brighter -- high-pigment blushes, ultra blowy skin -- but since I'm cursed/blessed with oily skin in a fairly humid city, I need to control oil like nobody's business.
