15 Ways to Wear Burgundy or Maroon Pants

Last week I posted 15 outfits with olive pants, and today is sort of a sequel with burgundy pants. Mine are a little more purple rather than red on the spectrum, but we'll just roll with it.

Burgundy pants are my other fall/winter wardrobe staple, next to my olive skinny jeans. I love maroon pants because they look great whether they're denim, corduroy, or more like twill or work-appropriate trousers.

I tended to gravitate more towards these than my olive skinnies when having to do business casual outfits. It may have been partially that these are more fitted on me and therefore look neater whereas my olive skinny jeans have more extra fabric, however, I think it is more due to the color. Something about this color is really easy to transition into workwear, and I think that's even more true with maroon pants (more reddish) than my purple-ish pants. This pair HERE from Old Navy is a great example.

I stuck to a lot of black, grey, cream or beige, and navy. For colors, I liked to play with ones close on the color wheel, like purple, poppy/coral, or light pink. I said I was excited to pair blush or light pink with my olive skinnies, and I feel the same about these burgundy skinnies. I loved it when I did it years ago (outfit #14) and now that I have this blush tunic I'm looking forward to doing it again! And then of course, I also love this color with mustard!

Sooooo....seems pretty much the same color pairings as my olive skinnies, haha. Perhaps the biggest difference is trying poppy or coral with maroon. However, I didn't do animal print shoes once with these, whereas that was a pattern for me with olive skinnies. I also didn't wear booties once with these and should definitely rectify that.

Here are a bunch of maroon/burgundy jean options. All are jeans except #1. The first row are all under $35 while the second row are all under $100 with current sales. One pair I did not show below that actually looks really nice is this pair of Paige Denim HERE. Though, it's pretty darn expensive.

Anyway, if you've got any good color pairings please share them below!

P.S. Julie from Capsule Cricket commented on Tuesday's burgundy/maroon/marsala post telling me she had just done a burgundy pants remix. I love her outfits! Definitely go check it out HERE.
