The Smollett Family Premieres "Smollett Eats" on Food Network

If you are anything like me, every now and again you find your stomach turning the TV channel to Food Network. Yes, my stomach controls my decisions in life.

With the premiere of Food Network's newest series, Smollett Eats, I have a less guilty reason to tune in. As a big fan of Jurnee and Jussie Smollett, I was so excited when I saw the trailer for their new show in collaboration with their 4 siblings. Smollett Eats aired on August 20th and it was nothing short of perfection.

About Smollett Eats
"Hang out with one of America's first families of food, The Smolletts, as they braise, bake and grill their way through the week. From putting on the perfect kids' birthday party, to throwing a midnight BBQ for their friends, these six siblings whip up some of their family's favorite recipes while giving us a glimpse into the relationships that make these brothers and sisters so much fun. Baby back ribs, steak banh mi tacos, pork chili verde and an Italian pop-up menu are just some of the mouthwatering dishes that cooking ace Jake Smollett and his brothers and sisters bring to the table. "
The Family Cast
If the Smollett family looks familiar to you, it's because this isn't the first sibling showdown that the family has broadcasted. The Smollett six (all of which have names starting with the letter "J") were also the stars of the mid-90s comedy, "On Our Own". Jurnee Smollett has been in several films and TV series, including her most recent show, Underground. Jussie Smollett, of course, can be found on America's guilty pleasure "Empire" as Jamal Lyon.

Smollett Eats brings all six of the Smollett siblings together fun good food and talks around the family table, with every member specializing in their favorite dishes to contribute to the family feast.
Jussie Smollett on the premise of the show
"We are the Smolletts. We cook our asses off. So we decided to executive produce this show to let y'all inside our feasts. It's a fresh take on food."
Jurnee on the importance of food to the Smollett Family "Growing up with six kids in the house — five siblings — you have to cook or you were going to starve to death. So, it was for survival. That’s why my mom taught us how to cook. I think Jake’s the best (cook) of us all."
