It’s Time For A Hair Change

Going For A Short, Blonde Ombre Hairstyle

You may remember last year in May, I cut my hair shorter. I went from it being below my middle back (see here) to being short, just below my shoulders (see here). I then had a lot of highlights put in to make it a lot blonder since my natural colour has gone quite a dark, dirty blonde (see here). I haven’t had it cut since the end of Summer last year due to a lot of health issues, but I’ve booked in a hair appointment this Thursday and I am super excited! I want to change it again and go even shorter! Plus, I might want a different colour as well. See my inspiration and what I’m planning below!

In Terms Of Cut

The photo just above of me is sort of similar to how I want to cut my hair again, but this time I want to go shorter. I’m thinking about just hitting my shoulders, just a couple of centimeters longer than Hilary Duff or much like the inspirational photos above. I also don’t want to have a fringe/bangs anymore. That’s grown out now as I’m sure you have noticed, so I want to keep it like that, but stick to having a side parting so I have a heavy swept over front section of hair on the side of my face, a lot like the second photo in this section above. This is what I’m going to go for on Thursday. I’m less of a wimp now when it comes to my hair so now I’ve already cut it short before, I have less worries about doing it again. I feel like I want some layers added in this time to make it more loose and wavy, but slightly longer at the back so it has more of a rounded appearance from behind rather than a blunt, straight cut.

In Terms Of Colour

When it comes to colour, my ombre hair that I had a few years ago (see here) was one of my favourite styles of all time! I really miss it and still love it to this day, so that’s what I’m wanting to do again. As my ombre was on long hair last time, it started below my jawline, but as I am going to be having short hair this time, I’m thinking of starting the ombre half way down my head, around the top of my ear. I love the two photos above as I think this ombre is absolutely perfect! Since I’m a darker blonde anyway, the bleach blonde that I want on the ends should blend in really nicely. One thing that I definitely don’t want though is a block of ombre like last time, I really don’t like that blunt line of colour, I want mine to transition in a faded, perfectly ombre way so I think painting it on in highlight or streak form would be great. I’m going to discuss this colouring with my hairdresser when I get it cut on Thursday, but then I will book in the colour at a later date this month or early April. I literally can’t wait!
