Eight (+1) Great Hanukkah Books for Children

I'm back! I can't stay away during the holiday season because I just have to share my favorite holiday children's books! I love reading to my second graders books about all of the different December holidays. It is so fun getting the book boxes out and putting them on the shelves. Each year there are more and more! It is getting a little out of hand. This year one of my students said three times, "Whoah, that's a lot of books!" Well, today I want to share my favorite Hanukkah books! Take a look, click on any of the titles or you can click on the images in the collage to get more information about each book. What is your favorite Hanukkah book? Please comment below and let me know!

8 1 Great Hanukkah Books

Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins: Have you read this one? I discovered it about 5-6 years ago and it is so fascinating. Gorgeous illustrations and a clever part that helps to teach the history of the holiday.
Latkes, Latkes, Good to Eat: A fun story about a girl whose 4 brothers get into trouble with a magic frying pan that makes latkes!

The Magic Dreidels: What better combination than magic and the holidays? This is a sweet story.

Hanukkah! A story about a family celebrating Hanukkah and my students love the little toddler in this story who is learning how to say "Happy Hanukkah".

My First Chanukah: Tomie dePaola is always great! This is a nice Chanukah book for the wee ones.

Latke, the Lucky Dog: This is new to me and so cute! Anything with a dog always is a hit!

The Night Before Hanukkah: Natasha Wing's rhyming stories are fun.

Light the Lights: Another one that is new to me written by David Adler.

The Story of Hanukkah: A nice way to teach about the holiday for both non-Jewish and Jewish children.
