Brugmansia 8/11/15

If ya missed the story behind this guy, I'll give a little recap. I bought him last summer at Means nursery for $1.99. A dollar ninety nine!!!! He was big and loaded with buds. I bought one for my mom at the same time. Wanting to attempt to winter him over, I stuck him in the garage. And then I ignored him. All. Winter. Long. My mom, on the other hand, put hers in the garage, and actually gave him water throughout winter. What a concept. Anyway, spring came and hers had new growth coming. Mine was affectionately dubbed, The Stick. You may remember photos from my spring posts. I drug him out to the yard anyway, not expecting much. I watered him. Talked to him. Apologized for the neglect. Then, one day, a teensy bit of something, that could possibly be green, started to emerge on The Stick. Fast forward several months, and The Stick can now be called, The Big Beautiful Blooming Beast.

You guys, he's soooo pretty. And he smells amazing at night. It was The Dad, who said something a couple nights ago when we were out on the deck, that discovered the night fragrance. He asked what smelled so flowery. I had no idea, so I walked around sniffing. It's this guy.

Here he is, hangin' out with his friends.

You get a sneak peek of the new outdoor coffee table The Dad built me in this next photo.

Isn't he purdy? I promise to take better care of him this winter.
