Ethereal Woodland Wedding Inspiration

It’s all about wonderful textures and colours today – I’m in love with this bohemian outdoor wedding inspiration shoot from a fabulous bunch of ladies. Alice, wedding and event stylist extraordinaire from Fleur de Lace, along with photographer Hayley Pettit has created and captured a woodland scene that we just want to dive right into – feathers, lace, colourful blooms, succulents spray painted gold and divine gowns kindly lent by Morgan Davies Bridal – ALL things that make our hearts sing.

I’m particularly loving the make up too – the perfect combination of a metallic smokey eye and a bold lip – neither is too strong and so they work beautifully together. An excellent job by Make Up By Katie. The models skin looks flawless too!!

And the stunning floral arrangements from Pots in Bloom are some of the loveliest I’ve seen – what gorgeous centrepieces these displays would make. And wait until you see the bouquet!! My jaw dropped. Seriously gorgeous work.

The Team Behind The Shoot

The shoot was heavily inspired by our own natural surroundings – we wanted to capture the ethereal essence of the wild and natural beauty of British Woodlands. We wanted to demonstrate the teams’ skills and we hoped to capture the imagination of couples looking for a more quirky and bohemian style wedding.

The Venue

The Letchworth Centre’s stunning woodland (found for our shoot by Enchanted Garden Events) works in symbiosis with the styling (Fleur de Lace) and floristry (Pots in Bloom) that uses hints of feathers, leathers, lace and sumptuous florals. The four of us have created a strong team who have utilised the wonderful network of suppliers in our local area; to name one of a few, Morgan Davies Bridal who generously provided us with exceptional gowns perfectly fitting for our theme.

The Dresses

We used three stunning dresses for our shoot, ‘Mathilde’ an ivory lace dress with feathers by Rembo. ‘Angelique’ a cream lace dress over nude pink slip, also by Rembo and ‘Rosalie’ a ivory crepe sheer back dress by Love Marley.

The Flowers & Decor

We used foraged tree stumps, twigs and moss have been used to create handmade mobiles, holding vintage medicine bottles and wild flowers. The woodland walkway scenes were influenced by current bohemian and festival fashions, with strips of leatherette, lace, plaited cottons, buckled belts and strings of intricately wired feathers, layered up and hugging the trees, with a fab natural beauty/added décor balance.

The Robert Brault quote depicts the wild and free ideas behind the shoot and was handpainted by Alice at Fleur de Lace and topped with a feathered garland.
