Elizabeth Arden Prevage Triple Defence Shield Broad Spectrum SPF50 Review & Swatches

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now. Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked…"

Sunscreen. The most powerful anti ageing tool in our arsenal against the most powerful ageing tool in our universe: The Sun. The longer I don't end up looking like Al Pacino (below the belt shot I know, he'll always be a legend) i'll be grateful.

However, I understand that most people do not like the thick white consistency and chemically smell that SPFs have come to be recognised by. And science has helped us by introducing invisible options. What's more: for us makeup wearers SPF is just another annoying step that could easily mess up the rest of the malarkey we apply.

So this is where Elizabeth Arden's Prevage SPF excels beyond anything I've ever found or read about. This sunscreen is charged up, packed with powerful antioxidants (Idebenone) and promotes the skin's natural repair process to relieve environmental damage. Due to its texture and make up it's great for all ages (even though it says anti ageing - it uses ingredients that are beneficial to all)

Pros:
- the texture is thin and disappears almost instantly
- All skin types ages
- Repairs environmental sun damage
- Oil free
- Good make up base
- Doesn't interfere with any other product, fine over moisturiser or alone
- High UVA/UVB SPF50 protection
- Can be tapped over makeup if need to reapply throughout the day.

Cons:
- Brush applicator not most hygienic - I squeeze it onto my hand first (Arden recommends washing it - great another brush we need to wash) I would prefer a normal tube or pump
- Expensive at £65/$79 - 50ml, but you can get it cheaper or on offer/sales. And if you find a reputable seller on Ebay I'd say go for it.

This has easily become my favourite SPF and keeps my fears of sun damage away. I highly recommend it. It's invisible and light on the skin and I even massage the excess onto my hands.
