Soaking this up while it lasts

I have not picked up my big girl camera in months! But I did snap this picture while my good friend and I were on our way to the St. Paul Rodeo on the Fourth of July. Oregon has some beautiful country and for girls with a heart like mine that's a good thing when you're always surrounded by the big city. It's good for my soul to get out under the open skies and be able to breathe. I've been doing a whole lot of spontaneous things since finishing up my post-bacc last month. That is, between working full-time, studying for my MCAT (again) and trying to stay in shape. The transition from my post-bacc to working full-time was a bit of a shock given that I only had a 4 day break between the two. Thankfully I'm not a stranger to holding down a full-time job and have seemed to jump back into the swing of it pretty easily. And one of the best things about finishing up school is that I have a life again, which means I'm able to do fun things that I wasn't able to do the last few years. Like take a last minute trip down to the rodeo or weekend traveling to California, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri. I get to take part in bachelorette parties, wine tastings, summertime shenanigans and be a bridesmaid in my college roommate's wedding. Oh, I even get to go to outdoor country concerts on weeknights because I don't have studying that is vying for my attention. This summer and full-time job thing is pretty great, even when I know I have dreaded secondaries heading my way in the next 30-45 days. But until then I'm going to continue soaking this life up.
